It may not be quite the caliber of Ken Crawford's post on his Wordworking Project (Excuse Me For My Voice) but here is the highlight of my trip to Tucson.  Biosphere 2 which is in some need of some repair work is located about an hour outside of Tucson (it seemed like much more).
